Actually, my version uses a car battery, much easier to go backpacking with than with that clunky generator and fuel can.

I agree with you. That's why I only shoot with DX cameras. I like to feel quality in hands not plastic.

Unfortunately, there is a shortage of the necessary batteries. Until that is resolved each new camera will come with a Honda generator and power cord.
(not my photo, BTW)

Apparently it will take two car batteries. But I'm 74 and my Canon SD1300 is too heavy for all day excursions. Should I consider this camera? I welcome any and all CONSTRUCTIVE input.

I’m going to need a bigger wrist strap. I’m keeping my fingers crossed than Canon doesn’t follow suit.

I just read in, The Nikon/Tesla Times newspaper that Tesla will be supplying the very same batteries for this Nikon camera that it installs in their vehicles. Of course a Fire extinguisher comes with the package. Goodyear and Michelin are competing for the contract for wheels.

So, are you saying that once the batteries are available that the camera can be recharged at any Tesla EV charging station? That's going to be quite a selling point!
