I believe this is an example of early 60's Chevy design. Large fins have been eliminated

Look like a ‘62 Bel Air. C’mon Chevy aficionados, is that correct?

And with the 409, dual 4 barrel 425 hp, it was a bad ass on the drag strip with competition from the 406 Ford tripower and the Mopar 413 wedge. The 60s was the beginning of big block 400+hp American muscle cars.

No, mine was a small block. The guy I bought it from in '66 had come up with a copy of the 327, which I think came out of a Corvette as it was 340hp with the single 4bbl and I think the factory jobs were either the detuned 250 or the 300hp version. Good looks and a Borg Warner T10 with Hurst shifter and lower gears in the back (4.11?, I think) made it fun to drive around town, and while not a 409, it was still pretty darn quick. These days, I'm more the red Bel Air guy.

My parents, when I turned 16, to my pleasant surprise, bought a fire engine red 1965 Chevy Impala two door coupe. And said I could drive it when ever I wanted. Talk about a chick magnet. WOW!!!

My first wife (unfortunately, deceased) owned a green 1960 Impala convertible when I met her. It was love at first sight. At the time, my ride was a 1953 Morris Minor convertible.
