I was going to recommend the t 6. Great camera it's my everyday carry for snaps. It might be a bit more then they want to spend
Couple of disposable cameras is a great idea.

$500 and up is a lot to spend on a camera for a teenager who may or may not get serious about photography.

True nuff thazza fact ... yet keep in mind that UHH isnt really much of a legitimate photo advice site and is mainly a form of group entertainment. Fantasy shopping with other peoples money is one of the most popular amusements on the site and this thread is right on target.
Acoarst fantasy shopping is about ones own preferences and has nothing to do with 15 yr old boys. Are there any 15 yr old members here ? Still photos dont mean anything to adolescents.

A disposable camera would be good for some snapshots for Grandma, but teenagers main use of cameras is about being an online video star of their own show. The camera of choice other than a drone is an action cam like a GoPro or some of the cheaper knock offs. Sensor size and and all that crap is meaningless and connectivity is everything. Typical viewing is by phone. You shoot for 1000 square inches of paper print. Teens shoot for 10 million square inches of phone screens ... with motion and audio.
Every reply in this thread is just self centered BS and has nothing at all to do with the actual intended user. Still pictures are by and for fossils. Still images without motion and audio rank with cave paintings ... quaint at best.
GoPro (used) or clone ($50) new.

True dat. But it's still fun for us fossils. Are you a trilobite or a dinosaur bone?
And National Geographic is still publishing, for us fossils. ;)

Normally a question is resolved in the first few replies. After that it's about egos, people wanting to add their 2 cents. Many don't even read the posts before replying.
And it's always a random walk that gets farther from center as the posts accumulate.

I like how Olympus disguises the On-Off switch as a rewind knob.

That's clever, functional and stylish!
I almost bought a PenF a few years ago. I hear good things about it. I opted for the OM-D instead. I love it.
