I just received the email below from Buford McEachern

Notice the date of the order. The "kindly verify" is a giveaway. Businesses don't talk like that.

The preceding sentence, assuming that there is a missing period before "kindly verify", is a giveaway. It does not conform to normal English syntax and misuses words. It was not composed by someone who is fluent in the language.

Watch out for the Geek Squad fraud as well. I got two of them and one actually had an email that looked right.

Be careful of some of those phone numbers. (I won't call them.) Some may be "charge per minute", not toll-free. The longer they keep you on the line, the more it costs. Especially if the area code is 284, 809, or 876.

Yes, I would never call one of those numbers.

The Geek Squad doesn’t need help from a scam to create dissatisfied or ripped off customers

I cannot tell you the number of times I've received a similar email. While it sits on my email in-box, I click over to PayPay to find no such charge. As others of you have found, when you receive this, just delete it.

According to my “email,” I’ve purchased enough lifetime subscriptions to McAfee and Norton’s to fill my computer’s storage. After a bunch of attempts, I finally successfully put together a rule that works and all now go directly to junk. Some spammers are pretty clever; fortunately, most are relatively easy to identify.

Yea, gotta be careful on filter criteria, you don't want to drop the real ones.
I might be pushing a hundred filter entries.

Aren't we supposed to pull out our paddles and zap them? Resuscitate them? Maybe call the local Lifeguard (if one can be found)? "Please provide us with your address so that we can direct the EMTs. Thanks."

There was a school here in the region, promoting their course in 'vid e oh ography.' And now I see a law firm warning of heavy metal poisoning from baby food contaminated with 'cad MID e um' rather than ordinary cadmium.

I remember that was a serious problem with land lines. I wouldn't think it's as much of a problem with cell phones. Especially plans like mine - no contract - flat charge per month - pay as you go.
