It's 04:15, I'm sitting in a cruiser on a quiet-so far-security from possible riot damage, trying to stay awake-so I'll be rambling here.
For about two or three years now I've been asking for helpful suggestions (and gotten several-Thanks to all!). Last week I finally got the "Payboo" card from B&H Photo and bought all the above. Substantially more than my first car, but I'll be 75 this year, so why not. So far I've updated, or checked on, the firmware on these two lenses and also a Tamron 90mm f2.8 macro. Then I've been trying them out in my basement studio/office/man cave. I need to get out this week to our nearby Metro Park and National park and try them out. I'll be searching through Hedgehog posts for tips on best usage techniques, etc. Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions and again for the past tips and recommendations. Sorry if it sounds like bragging, I'm just glad/relieved that I finally did it. my long-suffering wife may not be as pleased...

Sorry if I missed your other posts about purchasing the lenses for your Nikon but I offer congratulations on your lens purchases. From what I have heard here those lenses are a great buy and I wish you much good fortune using them. I think others will join me in wanting to see the fruits of your labor using those lenses.

Congrats! I have the G2 versions of both in f-mount and they have performed very well for me over the years. I hope you get the same great results I have been getting. FWIW, the 150-600mm might need some tuning at the long end to get the best results.

Congrats on your purchase. I use the same set of lenses on a D850 and am very happy with the results. My only advice is: complete the range of focal lengths by also getting the Tamron 24-70mm f2.8

I have the Tamron 150-600 G2 for my Canon 77D rebel and T7i. I called Tamron and they suggested if possible avoid the full 600 but back it off slightly. I use it at 500-550 and happy. I bought the tap in consol but Tamron offers a one time free tuning but you must send lens and camera into them. I'm shooting an eagle family and wanted to wait until the babies are fledgling and out of nest before I lose the camera for a week or 2. I really like the lens. I also Tamron 10-24 and happy with that
Here are 2 eagle shots from 2020 that a fellow huogger helped me with.

I purchased these and the 100-400 mm. I had Tamron calibrate all the lenses to my D500. Results are excellent, as the Tamron calibration covers the entire zoom range. The 90mm 2.8 I calibrated myself with Focal and the Tap In console. I'm going to check out the1.4 x TC when I have the opportunity.
Enjoy

Wow! Those eagle pictures are great! I can hear the eagles talking about their meals and agreeing with Lee Greenwood about "Being Proud to be an American". Thanks for the comments and sharing the pictures.
