I saw on my computer that both on these have had upgrades. I been using Lightroom Classic for many years. I purchased it 7 years ago. Love it. My question is do I get a free upgrade & if so how?. Many thanks

By Light Room Classic do you mean the stand-alone LR 6?
Because in today's Adobe Speak "Lightroom Classic/LrC) means the full-fledged lightroom that is part of the PhotoShop/Lightroom subscription at $9.99 a month and runs on desktop or laptop computers and things like "Surface" tablets that run the full-power computer OS. "Lightroom" is the pared-down version meant for portable devices like smartphones and tablets using Android. If you have either of those they are getting updates to the latest version.
LR 6 on the other hand hasn't been updated or supported for years.
Check out all the plans and you will see that if all you want is Lightroom it is $9.99 a month. Remember it is the stripped-down version for portable devices. But the Photography bundle which is Lightroom, Lightroom Classic and PhotoShop is also $9.99. It comes in either Widows or iOS versions.

You're going to have to add some more details. Best way is to go into the Help / About menu inside your LR Classic software and give us the version you have now installed. That will help explain what you're seeing and what your true options are for 'upgrade'.
Not much help, What release number. Go to help -> system info. It will tell us what release you are running plus all additional data about your system. I'm betting you are on level that has no service which gives you two choices: 1 use it as is until it finally stops working and your flat on your back or 2, upgrade to subscription or a different product . If option 2, might be able to see if your system has enough memory/etc to move up.
