Nice shots! Brings back memories! Thanx for sharing.
I failed to include that these were taken at a Viet Nam war memorial in Yorktown, Texas a town of 2,700 people that lost a total of 11 young men during the war.
Your welcome sinewsworn.
Bill
Nice capture with the flags.
I like the photos, Bill. Brings back memories for me too.
I was in the Gulf on board the U.S.S. Enterprise when Saigon fell. Numerous aircraft carried fleeing South Vietnamese off the coast into the Gulf hoping like heck to find a friendly Carrier, or anything else, off shore. A lot didn't make it but a family in a Huey got close to us before having to ditch into the salt. A crew flying Angels (safety for our aircrews launching and recovering) in an H-3 picked them up (all safe I think). Man, woman and three terrified little kids safe from what awaited those not able to escape.
