Rodeo: Watching the. . . .
Rodeo Clowns earn their paycheck.
Out of the chute, rider leans as clowns move into position
Faceplant, Clowns move in to protect rider
Clown moves in to protect rider
Clown distracts bull as rider stumbles toward fence
All is well for a minute, but bull again spots rider and changes course
Bull giving chase, clowns turn on the after burner to catch up
The bull turns sharply as he spots the open gate to leave the arena
The bull heads out of the arena, rider is still running, but safe, and no clowns (or bull) were hurt: all is good!

Nice action series, but I'll bet you just waved the red flag. 😜
Rodeo clowns are the best! Great series of pictures.

The terminology has changed over the years. A rodeo clown is an entertainer often stationed in a barrel and now usually called a barrelman. Your subjects are the rider protection team and called bullfighters.
Enjoyable series, well photographed!!

wow they have to be alert and fast...enjoyed your rodeo clown shots.
Nice set of pictures that capture the drama, excitement and danger of bull riding. For the bull this is a target-rich environment. He certainly knows his job and knows when it's over.
