I live very close to (sometimes underneath) the flight path the RED ARROWS often use when flying from their base at RAF SCAMPTON to displays in the South East of the U.K.
Thursday, for their outward journey I'd done my planning but for reasons unknown to me they flew directly over the village whilst I was positioned 2km away. I got a few shots but distance and weather didn't favour me.
Friday, they went home. Same published route. I got my best shots of the team, but still have room for improvement. Two shots of the Red Arrows (there are only 7 in the team this year + 1 flying commentator) and I have added (for those that might find it beneficial) how I got my shots.
John,
These are quite nice. The grey skies did well to contrast the aircraft in both photos.

I saw the Red Arrows in 2019 on their North American tour in 2019. (at Stewart airport NY). They were amazing. The Blue Angles were also there. (US Navy.) Best show ever.

Nice shots, John--enjoyed!
Nice work John. I like the second photo - the red against the dark cloud/sky. Very cool.
Excellent...thanks for the map showing your location and how you planned your shots!!
