Awesome! Might I suggest 2 of Steve's books at Back country gallery. Nikon auto focus and Nikon metering. Well worth the money even if you just read parts of the focus book to set your new toy up. Worked wonders for me.
Thanks, Dr. Bob! Those Hummingbird Moths are a pain to capture.
I've watched some of Steve's YT videos and find him to be very informative and unpretentious.

Congrats! Mine has never let me down.

Nice!! Congrats on the new camera and I hope you have many years together recording great memories.
I love Steve Perry's videos and have learned from him. I just wish his books were actually printed. I just don't like ebooks. I know printed books are more expensive but I really prefer them....just one of my quirks.

It's a great camera and will serve you well for every kind of shooting. JPEGs are the perfect size for emailing or for uploading here. Raw dynamic range is only a stop or so less than that of the D850. Please let me know if you have any questions.
I buy cameras from KEH because of the cool case they send your purchase in!

That's how KEH shipped it to you? That's quite a nice case, there. When I got my D7100 from Adorama, it came in the "plain white box".
I bought a new D500 this year because with my D7200 I was having a very difficult time focusing on birds in flight. With the D500 it will focus almost instantaneously when the subject is in the viewfinder area. I programmed the Pv button for group area focus for use for BIF.
I didn't get such a cool case with my D500 from KEH.
Luckily I had gotten something before that works. 😅
I have a tip for the D500. The video record button to the left and behind the shutter button can be reprogrammed to execute Mode. Mode is in the group of the four buttons on the top left of the camera. It's much more convenient to have it next to the shutter button. You can switch between program, aperture priority, shutter priority, and manual mode much faster. I did that with my D500's.
Enjoy your new camera and post some images.
