I have a 2016 samsung smart TV but does not have Paramount+ app available. what is a work around? I tried Roku but will not recognize. I have roku on three other TV one of which is a Samsung dumb tv. I am willing to try other devices (fire stick)? I can get it on three of my 4 tv's but they are tiny and wife would like to watch 1883 in our living room. any thoughts are appreciated. thanks
We used Apple TV to sign up for Paramount+.

Try updating the software on the TV. It's somewhere in the menus. This sometimes updates the apps available. I don't know how it was handled in 2016, but my 2019 and 2020 Samsung TVs have a bar on the bottom when you press the home button on the remote, but it doesn't show all of the apps available. One of the buttons on that bar shows you all apps available, and you can add any to the home screen.

Another thought. If you have a laptop with HDMI out, sign in on the laptop and then plug it into one of the HDMI inputs on your TV. I've stayed in hotels where it was possible to do this and watch various things I have subscriptions to, though the remotes in some hotels will not let you change the TV input. It's great when it does.
Do you get an error message that the Roku device (HDMI 1 or 2?) is not recognized? Or you just don't see anything for that port? Have you tried turning off the tv, then re-inserting the Roku, then turning the tv back on - and various similar actions?
My circa 2017 semi-smart Vizio will occasionally add its own apps, but I cannot add myself. So I bought a Roku to watch MLB.tv. Had no issues with the tv recognzing the device.

That's too bad. Both of my laptops have HDMI out, and one of them is 8 years old. It does come in handy sometimes. You can literally use a TV as a computer monitor if that suits you.

I don't have any suggestions for other devices because I've not used other devices. I have Xfinity, and I can access most streaming services through Xfinity on one of my two cable boxes. On the other one (which they keep urging me to replace), I use the TV, but mine is newer than yours. I would still suggest that you see if the software on your TV is up to date. They add apps during the updates. On my remote, I press the settings button and go to Support to find the update option. Your menus on your TV may be different, but every recent TV I've owned has a software update option.

I’m guessing your TV has a USB port. If so, just buy a USB ROKU device (with remote) - $29-39 and select the USB port (if the TV doesn’t automatically) with the input button on the TV remote. The USB ROKU has a separate “wall wart” power supply, and when you plug it in, the ROKU will boot and go thru its setup automatically. If there’s no USB, but a spare HDMI, get a ROKU with an HDMI output. And if the HDMI is already used, get an HDMI switch and switch between the ROKU and the other source. In any case, unless the ROKU is automatically recognized, you’ll need to select it with your input button on your TV or remote.
I have an older Samsung big screen and use Roku to stream. If you don't see Paramount+ in the Roku menu, google adding channels to Roku to find out how - it's there.

I too have a 2016 Samsung Smart TV that does not support AMC+. What I did was load the AMC+ app on my iphone and then use it to "screen mirror" it to my TV. The Screen Mirroring pop-up on my iPhone 11 automatically shows my Samsung Q8 Series ready to stream.
Hope this helps.

Here's how you can do that:
Mirror your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a TV or Mac
Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV, AirPlay 2-compatible smart TV, or Mac. ...
Open Control Center: ...
Tap Screen Mirroring .
Select your Apple TV, AirPlay 2-compatible smart TV, or Mac from the list.
