Antonov AN-124

I thought the Ukrainian Antonov was the only one in the world. Russia has two dozen of them. One is stuck in Canada, and it's being billed over $1,000 a day for storage, with the bill totaling over $100,000 so far. It delivered a supply of Covid test kits to Canada, and then it was held there.

They must be different planes, though, because the Ukrainian plane had six engines, and the Russian model has four.

Okay, got it! The Ukrainian was the 225 - larger.

The AN 225 was the large one & only one, now destroyed. There’s a second one, I heard was in China but not serviceable. It was thought to be restored, because it was unique for unusual large loads, travelled all over the world, attracting much attention where ever it landed.
It came to Perth Western Australia, a couple of years ago, half the city turned out to catch a look at it. Big media attraction. It was sad to see it’s destruction by Putin.
Yes it had 6 jets, the 124 is smaller with 4 engines.
The 225 was modifies to piggy back the Russian Space shuttle , spread the tail planes to accomodate that unit.
I hope the other one is restored, it’s an awesome sight to see.

Jerry, you will need to invest in a Russian-English and a Ukrainian-English dictionaries. The languages may be similar, but are not exactly the same. The first English may be New England region and the other may be La-la Land.

This is one of which You speak, mini Antonov, a mile away from my home in Hamilton, was here for a couple of weeks, gone now, by the way, the one and only huge Antonov, built in the Ukraine, is No More, destroyed!

That i think was wrong from Canada to hold a plane that brought medical testing kits , and then charge $1000 a day for storage .
