Greece Is Open For Travel (pt. 17) - Monemvasia (finale)
This wraps up the Greek (and Turkish) sojourn. This was a trip I dreamed of taking for nearly 55 years. Its realization was even better than I'd dared dream!
Some final shots of Monemvasia, and the pin map I mentioned in my previous post.
No wonder there's a church!

Cannon on the rooftop!

Converted into guesthouses, these buildings sit at the edge of a square that overlooks the water. Yes, those are cannonballs!

Few people now live on the island, but it is a thriving vacation and tourist area. Souvenirs for the kids, perhaps?

On the mainland side of the causeway. One thing it seems every Greek port has is a harborside stretch of cafes and restaurants. Step off a boat, and enjoy!

Points visited. Athens was our start/finish line. Wonderful trip! Highly recommended.

Looks amazing...beautifully captured

Your exposure is so good that I can practically feel the texture of the stone walls.
Thanks everyone, for sharing my journey with me. I'm an inveterate traveler, and Greece has been on my bucket list for decades. That I was able to fulfill this wish, and to have everything come together as well as it did was like a waking dream. Nearly 300 people (passengers and crew), four international flights, thirteen ports and seventeen site visits, there were ZERO cases of COVID (we were all tested). The only misfire was the Internet on the ship wasn't working, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
Now, to start thinking about my next trip...
All were very good shots, seemed to provide a good non-touristy view of a beautiful country. Thanks for sharing them.
