1st Photo From the camera. Standing at 11,000ft. Looking down on the Cloud Forest below in Costa Rica. I felt WOW.
One of the Best sunsets I've ever taken. I Call it Smoke on the Water. I didn't enhance this one, the sky was on Fire. I also said WOW that day.
Another one of my favorite sunsets.
Stunning photos, thank you for sharing. Cheryl

Maybe not as spectacular, just an extension of the mind. Out of the box so to speak.
Love it. Without the truckers, the shelves would be bare.

Tracy: I would love to tell you how I made this photo, but I did not take it. It was sent to me by a friend, and I thought it would be a good example of what we can strive for on photo's with impact. I have made several shots of the milky way that have come out as nice as the one in the photo example. I explained how to do this in an earlier post. From what I understand this was an original HDR, time exposure photo not a composite. It was shot with a Canon 5D MarkII. I have been a member for a couple of months now and the thing I noticed most was that most of the photo's that are on this site lack the wow factor or need more impact. Granted there are some photographers on this site that do produce photo's on a regular basis that do have impact. If we all want to grow on this site to be better photographers we have to think about impact in our photo's and stop and think why did I take this photo in the first place and how can I improve it to seperate it from the ordinary post card shot. This holds true with any subject mater.

the "wow" factor is always good to have if you can get it, but personally, i don't believe in editing a photo beyond the point of looking real just to make people say 'wow'. i've seen a number of images of the milky way taken with the 5DII, and yes, they're spectacular.... but most of them look far less artificial than the one you posted. sure, i could take some of my images, punch the color and contrast up beyond any semblance of reality, and toss it out there, but at that point, am i a photographer, or am i just turning photos into digital art and hoping people say 'wow'?
having someone say 'wow' when they look at a photo is nice, but that and $3.50 will get you latte at Starbucks.
Not nearly the WOW factor as many of the others, but OK
WOW you don't see something like that every day. Cool shot.
How 'bout this! Different folks have a different "wow factor."
Awesome photos! Man so vivid.
