Hey Hoggers. I am researching wide angle lenses for my 7200. What does 8-pin mean and will it work on my 7200?

The 8 pin interface includes the connections for an in-lens focusing motor (AF-S). The older 5-pin interface did not include these connections. They are saying that their lens requires the 8-pin connector on your camera.
What about my Nikon D7200. Will it work?

You can take the lens off and count the gold buttons on the connector. I'm sure that there are 8 of them. Don't think I've ever seen a recent Nikon with only 5.
Yea I found 8 pins so simple I asked the question without checking the camera first...duh !
Many years ago, I bought a used Nikon 10-24 mm DX lens on eBay for my Nikon D7000. That was the best $500 I ever spent. I sold it several years later on eBay for the same. It more than paid for itself plus 10x more with the multiple contests that I won and pictures that I sold that had been taken with that lens and camera combo.
The lenses with an aperture ring uns the screw drive focus. Works with your 7200, just a bit slower than newer AF lenses.
All Lenses with F connection will work on your camera no matter how many pins are.
