Here in New Mexico there hasn't been a lot to smile about recently, so these stills from trail cam videos are dedicated to my northern neighbors and anyone else currently impacted by, or even very worried about, wildfires. With rain perhaps many weeks off, I hope we all survive this spring and summer.

Oh! To be so carefree.
I know, right? There's a lot to be said for not reading the headlines.

These are the first bears I've gotten this year on my trail cameras, and they did not disappoint.
He was having a high old time. Be careful with anything that sparks out there.
Great fun! Thanks for maintaining your trail cams.

Awesome photos!!! #5 is so perfect; as though he's looking right at the camera and telling us that the water is fine and to come and join him!!! I love #9, too!!

As you can see, the effort always pays off at some point. I was thrilled to see these bears.

No, I think he would play to rough but I would love to photograph him from a safe distance with a long lens.
