Wow! Thank you so much for sharing these awesome images Ctrclckws.
Worth well over a thousand words each.

Wonderful to have this type of visual narrative to appreciate the actual venue and intriguing ship's interior.
All the best on your journey Ctrclckws!

Thank you, and may the OP enjoy his trip to the USS Missouri as well.

Luvmypets, thank you.

For such a big ship on the outside, its crammed full of the things needed to be a battleship on the inside.
A small city's worth of people.

And aircraft carriers are even more so.

After touring one of these, you can see the effort and learning curve of the designers and builders, amazing!

I visited the Arizona and Missouri in 2007 and used a Nikon D200 with a 18-200 zoom. That combo worked well for the trip. I had a battery grip on the camera as well. I believe the dimensions are similar to the Z you want to take.

Yes the spaces are tight and I had to be careful to ensure I didn't didn't bump my camera into stuff. It is a very somber, educational, and emotional tour.

Some images of the USS New Jersey, taken with a D600, and the Nikkor 8-15mm Fisheye.
Exterior at 8mm and 15mm.
Interior picture of the conning and firing rooms.

Even allowing for the distortion, interesting images.

The tour included the center turret and barbet, but there was no location to get an image without other participants.

Awesome and impressive πŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ§‘πŸ’›β€οΈπŸ’š

Just a reminder, since no one else has mentioned it. A visit to actually get on the Memorial must be made through the U.S. Navy. Everyone else can bring you out to the Memorial; however, since the Navy still considers the ship as "on duty" everyone else must maintain a specific distance away from the Memorial.

There is also a Navy bus to get to Ford Island, to visit the USS Missouri, and the Pacific Aviation Museum.

Tickets, and boarding are scheduled at the Pearl Harbor entry point.

I am planning a trip to Hawaii in September and of course going to Pearl Harbor. I know I need to 8 weeks before make reservations to visit the Arizona Memorial. Then was going to see the mighty Mo. in reading the information for visiting the Missouri it says β€œno large cameras” I was planning on taking a Nikon Z7ii with a 24-200 lens. I have visited other ships; Alabama, Texas and Yorktown and carried much larger cameras with out any issue, but things change I know more idiots doing stupid things. Has any body gone recently and carried a similar size camera? Or would the Nikon Z7 be considered a β€œlarge camera” ? I have emailed them but no response in 2 days. Would hate to be reduced to an IPhone, egads!

I’m confused. The Memorial is the USS Arizona at Pearl.

I was there a couple years ago with a D750 equipped with a 70-200 lens and had no issues or problems. Nobody paid any attention to my photo gear.

The USS Missouri, is moored facing the remains of the USS Arizona, and the bridge monument to the crew.

The Arizona Memorial is accessed only by boat.

Ford Island is accessed only by bus. Private autos are not only to cross the bridge to Ford Island.

The only access to BB-63 is from Ford Island. The Pacific Aviation Museum is in the Hangers that were attacked in 1941, also on the island.
