Honey bees have been using or birdbath for water. Canon 6dII with Tamron 28-300 ISO 25000 1/400 f29. Handheld from about 1.6 feet. If anyone can guess how many, you get an atta boy or girl depending.
You get a " lptta nerve " from me.
I've read that we should put some rocks or pebbles in the water for the bees to stand on, but I haven't tried that yet. Nice photo of your visitors.

Great set! Luv Me Sum Bees! Thanx for sharing!
I used to keep bees. Really cool little insects.
That's funny! I never saw bees drinking.
Never seen anything quite like this. Did not know bees have a drinking problem.
It's good to see a cluster of bees for they are experiencing difficult times and bees are ever so important.

When I visited my dad in Phoenix one summer, I watched a flock? of bees congregate on a bowl of water next to a dripping faucet. Around sunset, they began to stream off to the west to return to their hive.

A group of bees that have set up housekeeping is called a colony. When about 60% on the worker bees and the queen leave to set up housekeeping at a new location, they are referred to as a swarm. When a colony swarms, that is the act of them moving to new digs.
The Queen is a female that lays fertile eggs. Worker bees are incompletely formed females that do not lay eggs under normal circumstances. They also do all the work. Worker bees come from fertilized eggs the queen lays. Male drone bees come from unfertilized eggs the queen lays. Drones do absolutely nothing other than mate with a freshly hatched young queen. Sounds like a good gig until autumn comes and the workers throw them out into the cold to die.
