What any government giveth, that same government may taketh away. Disney world's enterprise zone was created by an act of the Florida legislature in 1968, as a precursor to the construction of Mouse Land.

The current Florida legislature voted to repeal that act. Governor DeSantis has signed it.

Mouse Land executives decided to get involved in state politics as part of their now "Woke" corporate culture. They figure they can frighten the Florida legislature into repealing a law which disparages no one. They are now shocked that conservatives will stand up to their blackmail.

Mouse Land's 1st Amendment rights are not violated, since they are free to continue their ill-advised lawsuit. They are, however, going to lose government subsidization of that process. We'll see just how fast the two counties involved can pass laws to make up for any perceived lost revenue. And remember, the Florida legislature can always change tax laws in some form.

Not even a so-so try, mud dauber.

The subject act does not mention the word "Gay" in it; neither tacit nor implied.

There is a lot being said about those taxes, there are those that are saying that the citizens will have to pay some 2 grand per household and others saying that Disney has avoided some $400 million each year in taxes.... Somehow I think that the previous arrangement financially benefited Disney and I am not so sure why the counties are expected to pick up bond liabilities, the counties will not own Disney, just have new administrative and regulatory authority over it.

Disney should pay attention to increasing shareholder value, not try to foist PC on the citizens of Florida.

Silly article and BS.
The special status is not guaranteed anywhere and the government can grant and takeaway at will.
It has nothing to do with Constitutional guarantees.
Your logic is flawed because PC violates free speech yet you and all libs worship PC.

Good. About time Disney became a taxpayer instead of a taxtaker.

Unfortunately for the Florida Taxpayers, DeSantis made it about the 1st Amendment when he stated the reasons for what he was doing.
I believe the intent was quite clear that Disney was being punished for their statements about Don't Say Gay.

Not statements but that as a corporation they would do all they can to overthrow the law in any way possible.
That is not free speech but insurrection.

We will see, the governor does know a bit about the law, but you might be right, certainly if I were on your side of the issue I would be questioning if this was not a clear cut example of punishing speech. BTW, there is nothing in the Florida law about being Gay, simply states that teachers can't groom 5 to 7 year olds.
