Oh my. I feel soooo much safer now!
Of course he could not be bothered to enforce laws already on the books or promote prosecution of lawbreakers that lied on Federal Firearms Documents . . . You, know, like Hunter?
You have to give the Democrat writers credit for inventing and coming up with these new marketing terms, "Ghost guns" and "Putin's price hike". Shows the value of a Harvard or Yale education.
I'm more concerned about the recategorization of 80% lowers as firearms. Essentially it is a metallic or non-metallic brick until work is done on them.
They also want to make it difficult to obtain parts, so you'll have to go through a FFL to get springs, pins and other items.

Has anyone ever been killed by a "Ghost Gun"? It takes a bit of skill to finish a lower and put together a semi-automatic rifle. Not your typical street thug skill set, not your typical street thug weapon of choice.

Ghost guns are just a shinny object so that Biden can look like he is having an impact when clearly he is not.

Agreed, He just does not anything better to do.
I didn't realize they were doing this with handgun frames. Yes, this should definitely be stopped. I think barrels should be serialized and controlled as well. What was called a ghost gun years ago was an AR type semi-auto that had a receiver that was completed by the owner. Normally AR receivers were controlled (serialized) and could only be purchased from an FFL. I had no idea there was a similar loophole for automatic handguns.
Of course, the current bill won't stop really industrious criminals from creating lethal weapons.
Others have noted that many if not most shooters have presented as deranged long before they picked up a gun to kill others. Their known danger to others and potentially to themselves should prompt authorities to identify individuals with a mental illness to provide them with treatment for their illness, in the interests of community safety.

A receiver is a fire arm. It's been that way as long as I can remember. You can go to a gun show and buy everything needed to make the gun of your choice, except the receiver, and you can take it home with you with no waiting period. These days you are supposed to be able to print one on a 3D printer. I don't know what type of 3D printer.

Yeah, I have a neighbor who is a total loser and unstable that has a small arsenal that he terrorizes the neighborhood with as we live in an unrestricted area and you can shoot guns 24/7 on your own property. This AH lives in a camper situated in a neighborhood of $500K homes, he has posted No Trespass signs all over his property and when he is having a bad day or the wind blows one of his signs off a tree, or just gets pissed off at a neighbor he runs around shooting off his weapons, day and night.... Nothing can be done to stop him, not in this part of the state. I have never known anyone that I thought was really dangerous until this 25 year old's father wanted him out of his life and sent him up here to live in that camper on his father's lot.

FJB and libs always go to the worn out play book of demanding banning firearms.
They never address the real problems of crime as that would affect negatively their idiot base.

WHAT “automatic handguns”? Are you referring to “semi-automatic” handguns?
The ONLY reason to serialize ANY weapon is to be able establish:
A. An original manufacture date, and,
B. The original purchaser’s information. (The only cases that differ are in jurisdictions that require Federal Firearms Licensees (FFL’s) to process all weapons transfers or private-party sales.)
These two points DO NOTHING to trace any actual “nefarious user” of ANY weapon, whether or not it happens to possess a serial-number-of-record. Nor does this information have any use in identifying a perpetrator.
Here is a better idea: lets have the dimwits serialize themselves and others. A simple tattoo as ‘popularized’ by the German SS would do the trick, then the PEOPLE could be controlled, rather than inanimate objects.
Guns do not just “go off” by themselves, it takes a conscious effort and a deliberate trigger-press to activate.
As far as serializing even more parts, that would not solve any ‘problems’ with guns—just shooting a weapon for some period of time will alter bore characteristics to the point where specific individual barrel identification is not sufficient for definitive identification.
