I posted a shot of an abandoned house this morning and it was mentioned that at today's real estate prices it would list for $300,000. Well take a look at what they are asking for this in Indianola, Texas. There go my thoughs of wanting to live down there. Not sure what the best offer will be.
They’ve got to be kidding!

If it is truly a beach house (i.e. "on" the beach) that accounts for about $225,000 of the price.

The true worth of something is only determined when a seller and buyer agree on the price. Until then it is just speculation.

It's what's called a teardown in the real estate business. You're buying the house to get the land.
A few years ago I went to an estate sale in Highland Park, TX (an exclusive suburb of Dallas) In addition to a lot of neat estate sale stuff, I saw that the very large, very elegant house was for sale @ $4,500,000. The sale manager told me that the house had just been sold, and the buyer was going to tear it down and build something nicer!!!

So somebody will probably build a McMansion there. But it is close to the beach and subject to high water in case of storms so they will want federally subsidized insurance on the place. If someone is foolish enough to build in a dangerous area, that is his right but he should not demand my tax money to subsidize his foolishness.

It's right on the beach
Well no wonder then. That' should answer all the questions about the price. People who still think it's inflated should go shopping for beachfront property. They'll find out quick enough.
It's truly amazing Stan
