Correct, China will not do jack. Not in their interest to harm themselves. That is a Western oddity.

The problem with burning wood is the methane not the carbon. But I live in cattle county.

The problem is carbon and other pollutants as well, trees store carbon, burning wood is one of the most unfriendly to the climate ways you can heat, advocates for wood suggest that reforestation will make burning wood carbon neutral but that is illogical, it takes decades for a newly planted tree to capture the carbon that was released on the cutting and burning of a mature tree.

The point I was making Denny, is that it is hypocritical to point out our per capita emissions when in fact you yourself are not doing what you can on protecting the climate. Personally I have a very small carbon footprint as compared to most Americans but that is not because I am so worried about Climate Change but it is because recycling is the correct thing to do, I limit the amount of driving I do, and I try to be efficient in my use of electricity by using LED lighting and turning off lights when leaving rooms. My home uses mini-splits throughout so I only have to heat or cool one of three floors when I don't have guests. I do these things mostly not because I worry about climate change so much as I don't like paying high energy bills.

Personally I am not willing to step backwards in my lifestyle, nor do I know anyone who is, our country is not ready for a big move into a green economy, the infrastructure is not there and this should not be something mandated and regulated upon us by an inefficient government, when the technology is available the private sector will make the move because it will be economically feasible for them to do so, in some cases it will require government involvement but the government should not be as overreaching as the democrats are demanding.

If my post was taken as a personal attack, I'm sorry if I was clumsy. I meant no attack.

We should talk!

Drill down on....as compared to GDP and see what you come up with.
