An orphaned elephant calf is hand raised by caring staff at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Nairobi. Among other things, the trust aims to return elephants, usually orphaned due to illegal ivory poaching :thumbdown: to the wild when they are old enough.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful shot! I wish they could put a hault to ivory poaching,wish more could be done to stop the greedy!

I am so glad she was rescued and cared for. Such sad endings to these beautiful animals for their tusks. I wish the poaching could be stopped but again,its about the money not life.
