That's a lot of Vultures! When I see vultures overhead, I just hope that they are not eyeballing me!

Reminds me of a Gary Larsen cartoon:

Two vultures sitting on the edge of a cliff, looking at some poor guy crawling across the desert. One vulture says, 'wonder if he'll make it?' The other vulture, licking his lips (or beak, if you gotta be precise) replies, 'bet he doesn't.'

WOW! That is a LOT of vultures in one place!

That's got to be Hinckley, Ohio on March 15. The buzzards return to Hinckley every year on March 15 amid a great celebration. They arrive earlier than that but Air Traffic Control Hinckley won't clear them to land so they hang out in the surrounding communities until they get the all clear. That "kettle" is about the right size for the 15th.

"Boiled" is definitely an appropriate choice of words. To watch an eagle or hawk in flight is watching a master of the air, a study in gliding, riding the currents. But a mass of vultures is a whole other experience. It always amazed me how so many huge birds could roil ad boil in such proximity to each other, each apparently doing its own thing, without colliding. So many you couldn't even count, especially with all the intermingled motion. Great fun to watch! Just don't lie down motionless on the ground looking up, lest you be mistaken for dead and dinner.
