Took my pickup in for an oil change. Then I went for a walk in the rain while the work was done.
When I returned both taillights were broken. How?
Major bummer...
Where are the pieces parts?
Looks like someone smacked them with something.
Only the lenses are damaged?

Not a surprise you should have to come back to… Hopefully it will be resolved quickly.
My dealer takes a walk around video of all vehicles that enter the shop before accepting the keys - if any damage is done, they know who worked on it.

Thanks for looking and for your comment. Unfortunately, it wasn't a dealer I took it to. I have ordered replacement assemblies, but I'll be talking to the shop about their making it good.
It looks like "Willful Damage".

Regretfully that is a possibility. Thanks for looking and for your comment.

That's a bummer, but at least that's all the damage they did.

If you did let them know before you left he is off the hook.
The last time I took a vehicle to a quick lube shop, the manager literally said "I am banning you from this business forever." Oil pressure light was on as I had driven away after the oil change. Returned to the shop and showed them and essentially was told, "ya that sometimes happens". After I pointed out that this was beyond coincidence and a few other choice comments, he banned me. Then he got pissed when I began to laugh at him. I am assuming he had a master's degree in medieval art studies, and was hurt when I laughed. The banned worked. I have never been back to that shop or any other quick lube business.
