Prisoners that die at the Huntsville State Prison and not claimed by kin folks are buried at the Joe Byrd Cemetery, which is owned by the State of Texas. Each prisoner is provided a simple headstone. At last count, there are just a tab over 2,000 prisoners buried at the cemetery. Tejaswrangler :)
