This is an odd situation. I often have several emails wind up in the Drafts folder on my Kindle. A friend often gets them in the Drafts folder of his cell phone. The only explanation I can think of is the Kindle lost the Wi-Fi connection temporarily. If that were the case, it should have sent the emails when Wi-Fi returned. Any idea what's going on?
I get them in my trash folder now and then. Don't know why.
I have drafts show up when I get distracted and start working on something else or forget to hit SEND when I'm finished.

That's exactly what I thought drafts folder was for - you start to draft a message or reply and didn't send or the message could not be sent so it is there for another try until it is sent or deleted.

Right, but this happens only on my Kindle - never on the computer. If I look after a couple of weeks, I could have ten emails there. A friend with an iPhone noticed the same thing.
Related - I sometimes accidentally delay sending a post on UHH because I'm looking up info for a reply, or I just get distracted.
