I have two printers one is Canon 2900 series. I bought it at America's Chinese Outlet Store, better known as Wal Mart for less than thirty bucks. Has two ink cartridges that cost about twenty five. I use it mainly for printing letters etc but now an then I print a picture and it does a really nice job. The ink lasts a long time.

Yes I would buy another

Look at a Canon Selphy. Prints 4x6. The unit is about $130. I got mine at Sam’s Club for less, and it came with a small amount of supplies (7 prints). There are some packages that come with more supplies. Shop for the best deal.

Wired or wireless connections.

Supplies run about 33 cents a print. A box for 108 prints includes the paper and the ‘ink’.

Uses very long lasting dry ink with heat transfer, not an inkjet printer. Great colors, simple to use, very portable, you can get a battery for it that lets it print anywhere.

Keep an eye out for the Canon Pixma Pro 100.

Every now and then canon puts a deep discount on them.
I picked up mine for $100 a few years ago.

They always get you on the ink in the end.

When my old printer died, I looked at everything available and finally settled on the TR8620. I'll admit the ink is expensive, but I noted that the ones that had ink tanks were "not recommended for photos." I like it. Prints up to 8x turn out really nice.

I posted this few weeks ago but for a photo printet. Think my budget was $500, but I wanted larger prints. Canon has nice lines for all budgets

I would suggest you revisit your "requirements" and consider something that can also give you an 8x10. Somewhere, sometime someone is going to mention how it would be nice to have a larger version of a shot.

As far as ink cartridges, I use LD Products for replacements (www.ldproducts.com). They offer OEM and their own less expensive brand. Their ink lasts a reasonable amount of time on a print. I've several prints that get direct sunlight and they lasted 2-3 years. Others out of direct light are still going strong after more than that!

We have a Brother MFC, does a good job on photos with photo paper, reasonable cost for ink, 4 cartridges, now remember YMMV, Bob.

Second the review of the Selphy. Had one for years and has always printed good pictures from good photos.

Just so you are aware, we have this series of printer at work. They have an ink absorber and once the ink absorber is full, the printer will no longer function. I did try to wash it out and replace, but with no luck. You can send the printer back to Canon to fix the issue, but the reality is that it is cheaper to just buy another printer. We may print an average of 8 pages every weekday and I think the printer lasts about a year.

Look at the Canon TS 6350 (three in one). You will not be disappointed. Get two 7x5s from one A4 sheet!
Wifi connection if required - means you can keep the printer in another room.

I think the Pixma Pro 100 is no longer offered new and the replacement is 3x more than the pro-100. This printer if available as a used one is overkill for the requirement the person stated.

I would also second the three-in-one solution. I use one for small print jobs, too. Plus it is nice to have a readily accessible scanner. The fax I think i have used perhaps 3 or 4 times in all the years I've had it! But it is there.

You are correct..it is no longer for sale.

Still...keep an eye out for their Pixma Pro-200 then...Canon every now and then just throws them out there.
It's always better to have options...unless time is a serious factor.
