Nikon's BEST EVER Telephoto Prime lens - Z 400mm f/2.8 TC. What do you think?
But years here in UHH continue to remind me that UHH is mostly NOT the forum for anything beyond the mean needs and interests of hobbyists.
Cheers[/quote]
Agree there a lot of "sour grapes" on this forum. If they can't afford it they make derogative remarks because the "grapes" are out of their reach. I cannot afford a Z9 or this lens but I look on the bright side. This technology will works it way down to affordable cameras and lens which benefit all. The D5 begat the D500 and so on. If one watches the video one would note that the reviewer says this lens is not for the casual user. Thank you for posting the video it was fun to watch

Thanks
interests of hobbyists. The pressure on high and sports photographers is overwhelming. I need lenses like this to get the shot. No matter the cost. Or the cost would be their job.
People pretend not to like grapes when the vines are too high for them to reach.

Not really. it is a combination of all my years teaching photography to everyone from beginners to pros. I believe advances are something we all can celebrate even if we personally have no interest or budget for it ourselves.

Ignore them. Even if a pro isn’t shooting at 2.8 they’d certainly appreciate the benefit to focusing in low light they get from it.
I think Friday's are the best day of the week, EVER. What do you think?
What you will find here and throughout UHH are those that can't afford and those that can. Those that can buy... shut up and go take photos and post. Those that can't buy protest and generally post no photos. They are naysayers who do not adopt to new technology claiming they have no need. And they are right. Because they are non-producers. Some pose as invisible nameless admins who simply remove your post, censor you, come in as another screen name and try and drag you down into their feces laden swamp. Its what UHH is becoming. Which is the same way Facebook went. A losing proposition.
I feel sorry for the long-time posters here, the creatives who are helpful, humble, with "can do" attitudes.
As for Matt Granger, he is very widely viewed and respected. He is one of those good guys with the positive traits I mentioned above. He and I have exchanged ideas, comments, pleasantries and he is never nasty like quite a few in this forum. His videos, opines and experience are valued by myself and many.
Keep on posting GWilliams6! Jim

They sure as heck beat Mondays.
It might be good if it was not a deadly threat to society.
Take a photo with it on vacation and kill the person next to you.
That is not cool or great.
ALL the Z lenses (S) are the best ever ! .......according to Imatest
.

It's a constant surprise to me the depth of the dickishness, the breadth of insecurity, and the intractable tendency to simply piss all over the floor rather than engage rationally, for no purpose other than to stroke one's ineffectual ego. I don't understand why there is so much of that on this forum. I know we get grumpier as we get older (I certainly have), but some appear to have lost their wits and resorted to spit.
Well said Nick Gee.
It always amazes me the negative responses a lot of the posts generate. Hey, if it works for the poster more power to them. If it doesn't work for you post why but don't denigrate the posting person. Many of us who tune in to UHH are looking for some tips, tricks, etc. that may help us in our quest to improve our photography, the negative attacks on the personage is a big turn-off.

LOL. I suppose the same could be said for those who don't brush their teeth in the morning.

I do not recall a medical device malfunction warning regarding the matter of brushing teeth.
But there is one for this lens that using it in proximity could kill.
Not a laughing matter.

Don't feed the trolls. Another warning.
