Your book has pictures. I've seen so-called photo books with so much la la la, where are the pictures?

Here goes my first publishing of a photobook.
As I write to you, my final version is going to be printed with BLURB (I made 3 revisions). It is about all the action I have seen along the river for the last 6 years. It's 116 pages with 303 photos. In gross total, there are approx. 6000 photos that I chose from.
The Hudson River was the main highway into America 400 years ago, and it still is a main highway.
My photos were taken from a 10th floor window on Riverside Drive in Manhattan at 109St. It's a 'from my window' type photobook.
Here are a few two page spreads to see what the book will look like.
I hope this works, its my first, and I have so many more books to create, I have a list 10 subjects to work on.

The book looks great! Best of luck with it, and your future books.
Curious as to why you chose to use Blurb? I’ll be doing my own first book (for family) later this year and wonder how you made your decision? Thanks.

I chose BLURB because of their selling features online, as well with Amazon. But I am finding it difficult getting around their many links. Today I ordered my final (1 copy) and i wanted to order my eBook at the same time but the file is too big, beyond 2bg, so I have to go back and compress the file, how does that affect the print version ? Their Help desk can take a few days to respond.

Interesting topic. My grandparents lived at 159-00 Riverside Drive, and I remember as a kid when the submarine "Nautilus" was going upriver, I was on the ledge over the highway watching the sub on the surface. That was a magical time!

Congratulations on a fine (and hopefully remunerative) achievement. Best of luck on your book’s success.

I'll be lucky to break even. Publishing photobooks is not for profit. Amazon sells such books for $15-25, Blurb tells me it will cost me $45 (with a limited time discount coupon), otherwise one copy price is $56. Make money ?

Congratulations. Beautiful pictures.

A friend of mine in his 70's has finished his first novel and is revising it now. He is getting it published on Amazon. They have some sort of a support network for new writers. I think it is free to publish both paper and kindle versions and sell them on Amazon.

As a resident "up river" (Newburgh) I realize that the Hudson is a supremely beautiful and constantly changing view. Glad you're doing this. You are joining the "Hudson River School" of artists!
