Most of you who have cruised in the Mediterranean have no doubt made a stop in Dubrovnik. On one such trip while entering the port I was taken back by the enormity of the yacht docked entering the city so I snapped a shot to investigate further. The yacht “Eclipse” is the second largest super yacht in the world (162.5 meters/533 ft.) is owned by Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich (est. worth 30 billion). Abramovich denies close ties to Putin yet he was recently at the Russia/Ukraine cease fire talks in Belarus. Additionally, his 500 million dollar yacht is equipped with bullet proof glass and a military grade missile defense system. Built by German ship builder Blohm + Voss it has 3 helipads, a submarine capable of carrying 3 people 50 meters deep, 24 guest cabins, 2 swimming pools, several hot tubs and a crew of 70. It has hosted parties with attendees such as Paul McCartney and Leonardo DiCaprio.
The present shape of the old city wall was defined in the 14th century after gaining independence from the Venetians but peak construction lasted from the beginning of the 14th century to the latter half of the 16th century. Interesting to see how people still live and interact within the confines of the wall. The photos are murky on my iPad unless downloaded.

The city pics look nice. The yacht... may it sink into hell!
I have a friend that has a pretty good sized boat - He calls it his hole in the water that he throws money into
