Blue Tint to Nikon D7200 Images

I'm curious whether any of you Nikon hogs have ever experience (and resolved) a problem with a blue tint abruptly on your images. I was out shooting (Aperture Priority & Raw) Saturday morning, capturing nice images, when suddenly a light blue tint was cast on all my images. Checked my settings but found nothing amiss. It's still happening and I'm scratching my head, even going as far as to Google the problem. Nothing I've read seems to fit. Feedback, please.

Did you check your white balance setting?

I have. Noted the tint with every lens I use. Had to two-button reset the camera. Cleared it up. I do not know why it happened. Let me know if that procedure works.

I fixed the problem on my own. I checked everything but WB the other day and just discovered it had somehow moved off of AUTO. All better now.

Great. In the future, consider taking an unedited JPEG from the camera and post that example, storing the file. Your WB setting will show in the unaltered EXIF, where others should note the change off of AUTO-WB as a possible cause (and solution).

Cool, had a feeling it might be something of the sort... Happy shooting...

I had this happen once, probably between 2004 and 2006, with my D100 on a sailing trip Downeast. Never figured out how or why, never happened again.

The tint was so severe Lightroom couldn’t clear it up.

That's exactly what happened to me - tried LR but it didn't work. All good now though because I found that my White Balance had somehow moved out of Auto.

Great news, and Congrats!
I just want you to know that I'm celebrating with you.
I find that every time something goes "wrong" with any photo equipment it is usually (read-always) operator error, sigh.
I know because just last night I "Solved" a self-induced problem after about two hours, aaaarrrgggh. . . .
So, now you have reason to . . .

You nailed it Jimmy. Did you serve in the Navy?

No, I served in the U. S. Army during the '60s in the RSVN.
However, I did work for the U. S. Navy for 39+ years building submarines and aircraft carriers.

It’s probably white balance. I did the same thing on a D7100 in Japan photographing Mt. Fuji from a speeding train. It was a rare clear day and the entire mountain was visible and I didn’t bother checking my settings . It can be corrected in pp. if it makes you feel any better…you’re not alone!

Early digital cameras like the Nikon E950 2mp often gave a blue tint with low light levels. It can make a ski scene even more beautiful.
