When I open the link on my PC, it shows "Upcoming Topics" which do not appear when I use my phone or tablet to read the digest.

How does UHH know which topics are coming up?

Looked at my profile and did not see any checkboxes for "show upcoming topics". A search for the word "upcoming" came up with nothing.

As user "ski" said above ... the PC is a day early and a dollar ahead.

Even though I don't use my phone for UHH, I (as I stated above) still do not see it on my PCs.

Day ahead, day behind, doesn't matter.

when I log onto UHH on my desktop PC, the UHH for the day is different than what appears on my iPhone ?

"Upcoming Topics" changes throughout the day. I see it every day on my PC when I log back on after being off for a couple hours. Some of what were Upcoming Topics are moved under other headings, I guess because they got a lot of responses.

Here ya go - I don't know what the class does or how the screen size is obtained, but I'll guess the resultant display here at UHH depends on the screen size.

Snippet:
.."/buddy-user-list" class="btnlink topmenu_button topmenu_hide_if_small_screen">Buddy List

How something looks on ANY device is all in the code used.

That explains a lot. The Buddy List is something I've never used. It's something you have to set up in your profile under "Account Settings". From the language used, I gather that everyone has a buddy list but unless you enable it, the list is not used.

PS: Where did you find that code? I looked on the home page and the watched topics page but a search for "buddy" came up empty. (Using Chrome on the PC. Haven't figured out yet how to get the code from Safari. Opening the html file from the text editor shows the page, not the code).

Edit: Xcode will show the code from an .html file on the MacBook.

I just had "a" page open, right-clicked on the page (in Firefox) and selected "Show Source" (for the page).
I just picked one of the lines of code that looked like it was "viewer dependent". Other items are similarly coded. Of course View Source will not show any PHP involved in the page as that, if existent, will be processed on the server during the creation of the code used for creating the page.

In Windows/Chrome (ctrl)-U does that. I think it also worked when I was using firefox.

I used that keyboard shortcut a lot when I was learning HTML.

Doesn’t work on the MacBook/Safari.

"Upcoming topics" is a section at the beginning of the Digest. It seems to be a holding place for Digest topics not yet assigned to one of the standard UHH sections.

I use Firefox 99.9998% of the time. No Apple stuff.
I only use Chrome and Edge to confirm operation of mods I make to my site, and only for viewing.
I don't care for Chrome or Edge. Firefox is so much more versatile for me. (Been using it since it was Netscape.)

A couple millennia ago I was using Firefox. It became very slooooooooooow. I switched to Chrome. It worked. I stuck with it.

Firefox was broke, so I fixed it. Chrome wasn't so I didn't.

Have tried Firefox a couple times since then and had no problem with it but everything was in Chrome by that time so I stuck with it.

?

I found that Weather.com had almost 1Gb of cookies on my laptop.
Firefox took about 5 minutes to become stable after startup (yea, ≈10 year old laptop).
I deleted the Weather.com cookies and disabled their storage. Firefox basically comes right up now on my laptop.
Go figure...

Consider the screen space and amount of data.

Then revise your point of view.

Whenever one creates a website, the host offers the opportunity to create for several devices. Be happy you can access the site on different devices instead of complaining "It is not the same."

The OP asked a question without providing sufficient detail. That could be considered somewhat improper because it forces those willing to help to ask questions before they can answer. But I don't see how you get a "complaint" out of what he said.

And, is it really different, or just their imagination?
