The Admin was kind enough to approve this new section. I am going to prepare some material and ideas to get us going. Meanwhile, feel free to post any suggestions, requests for topics, or any ideas you have that will enrich this section. This section is gonna be dedicated to every aspect of light and lighting for photography of all kinds. Whatever you shoot landscapes, still life, commercial products, flowers, birds and bees, portraits, photojournalism, street photography or what have you, you are dealing with LIGHT- the more you know about the science and aesthetics of light usage, the better you will be equipped to achieve the results you want.

It does not need to be "rocket science". There is a bit of applied physics and geometry and the rest is pure FUN! It was not even expensive. There is FREE natural light, your lighting gear or setup can be as simple or complex as you like and if to know your lighting, you can produce a masterpiece with a candle. If you don't know much about light and lighting, you can have an elaborate studio set up with many lights but all you will get is a big electric bill.

As photographer of 50+ yrs., I will watch this "New Section" closely...as I truly feel that "Light Must Always Complement The Subject".

There are many on this forum that appreciate this aspect of the Art, and I'm sure this will have a very good following.
