How does Topaz DeNoise work with ACR? I see articles that uses LR, but I do not use LR. It appears that you export as a TIFF and use the Topaz product? A little confused. Thanks, Gary

Maybe the day has arrived to move to Lightroom and the 21st Century as your RAW editor? Yes, save as a 16-bit TIFF in the ProPhotoRGB colorspace, something you can have occur automatically after defining an external editor inside LR. The processed TIFF coming back from Topaz is then 'finished' in either LR or PS, based on need and preference. Best of all, LR then automates the Export of the JPEG, or other formatted versions, of the TIFF for varied uses of the image.

If you are seeking the best noise reduction from Topaz Denoise AI, DO NOT use the export function as suggested. That converts the file to a Tiff and takes back a Tiff. Instead, drop the file(s) on the DeNoise icon. The file(s) will be processed as RAW files and ultimately left in a DNG format. If you are using Lightroom, you will have to synchronize the file(s) or otherwise import them back into Lightroom. On your return to Lightroom or you other processing programs, you will be working with a raw DNG files. Topaz has instructional videos on this matter.

If you are seeking the best noise reduction from T... (show quote)

If it operates on the OPs native RAW files, so much the better.

👍👍

However, opening the dng file with acr will alter availability to differing conversion profiles.

Is PS ACR, the same processor as Lightroom? I do not need or want to use the Lightroom catalog function. Gary

If ACR in Photoshop is the same as Lightroom, why do I need to change, I already am in the 21st Century. I do not need the catalog function, therefore I do not need Lightroom. PSCC works for me and does everything I need to edit my images. thank you, Gary

PS is great at editing images. It sucks at organizing images.

I did without organization until my photopile reached 10K. At that point my memory was not good enough to keep track of it all. And, note that memory gets weaker with age. Maybe you can keep track of all your stuff now, but (1) you're getting older; (2) you're adding to the pile.

BY the way, you can use the Topaz programs as plugins from PS.

If your paying for LR but not using it, that's very 18th century ...

But we're paying for PS and probably only using 5-10% of it.

And considering the track record of THIS century.........................

Orphoto, you may be right. I get different set of camera profiles.

I have no need for the catalog function. Other than that PS CC does everything else and more than LR.

I take that to mean that you don’t have a large number of photos to keep track of.
