Good morning Bridges,

I love 'em!
They are the work of an absolutely outstanding cartoonist / satirist named Gary Larson. He retired in 1995 but at his peak he was featured in nearly 2000 newspapers across the U.S. I always made sure to view his work each and every day. He has produced 23 volumes of his collected works containing all 4337 individual cartoon frames all of which have been translated into 17 languages (!!).
Surreal, "off the wall", bizarre and all excellent. And for some unknown reason his sense of humor and mine were somehow inexplicably the same. You can simply Google "Gary Larson cartoon images" and view, literally, hundreds of examples of his output.
In light of your posting you are, quite likely, aware of all this - but I just thought that since you obviously admire his work you might like to delve a little deeper into the strange world of Mr. Larson.
