Think it may have been a John Deere, would appreciate any info...thanks.
Think the model B answers are correct, as a kid our neighbor had one very similar.

Yes it is for sures a john deere, model H a later model with electric starter. That is why the fly wheel has a tin cover, no longer needed for starting.
I think it is an Md. A could be a B. I Had a A, This looks like the same Md. Gave it to my grandson when he was a small kid. It is stored in an old chicken house. It is a 1952 John Deere Md. A. I bought in1977 with a neighboring farm. I used it a few times on the farm & in a parade or two. The farmer was an old bachelor who took very good care of what he owned. With the farm I bought his cattle, equipment, tools and everything but household goods. He had a small shop with tools, He never used the good tools. I got lots of Snap On wenches, machinist tools, handsaws, brace and bits ,hammers+++, an anvil that had never had a lick. He had built a nice work bench + several cabinets for the tools. I later sold the house, built a new shop by my house, and moved all of that to my shop. Some of this I have never used and will not let any one else use. I plan to pass my farms to my sons and grandsons, but they are not interested in the antiques. At 89 I would like to sell some of antique tools to someone who would appreciate them. There is also parts for JD tractor and equipment ,new & used. joe
Can remember when I was big enough to turn the flywheel starter, Dad would let me drive the tractor. That tractor was a 1937 B model John Deere. It had a flywheel starter as I said, the one in the picture has the flywheel covered, so guessing it is somewhat newer since the flywheel is covered. Our '37 had two wheels on the front set very close together and also could run on diesel or gasoline. It had two tanks for fuel.
Great shot, Jim, correct colors for John Deere.
Yep john deere "B" About 1950 52
Not 40`s unless its late I think the pressed steel frame started 48 or 49 but its also electric start which came about the same, but the give away is the seat that version started early 50s

A bit of TLC and it would look good! Fine shot of whatever it is Jim.
I believe that is an old International Harvester tractor.
It's a tractor -- what more do you need to know???
