I love them all for various reasons. The ripples in the water caused by air movement or artifacts, shadows that block part of the view, and especially when it is broken up in multiple puddles or areas of water.

I'd say any of 'em work, but the (complex) simplicity of #1 is likely the best of the lot. Strangely, while #2 is extremely similar to #1, the cactus --in my ever so humble estimation-- is something of a useless intrusion, and as such sets up something of a 'red herring' that detracts from what would otherwise be a (complex) simplicity.

Whether you agree or disagree is immaterial. What's material is that these all are more than a cut above.

Thank you for your thoughtful response. My problem is I like too many different things! There was actually a lady with a hired pro who pointed out the cactus photo from behind another pool. I think I like the cleaner look, but since we don’t have cactus in Colorado, I find them interesting. I would have liked some interesting clouds and a colorful sunset if I had my way.

Again, love hearing your opinion!

Gorgeous work, Beth! #5 is very creative.

I was desperate for reflection. I had not found out where the location was for the first three at that point and was frustrated! So I took what I had!!

To begin with, I would be proud to call any of these images my own. Having been there myself, I would choose #2 over #1 because I feel the cacti speak about the terrain of the area better. Your different angles to achieve reflections are fantastic. The angle you chose for #3 is really great. The shadow detail you have obtained in #5 is very nice and I feel the clouds add some great texture to the sky and reflection in #6. I also like the sky in #9 as well as the composition. Again, these were great.

All are excellent images. I'm especially partial to your #4, with the peek-a-boo reflection, and #6, with a midground separating the reflections.

Very well done!

Very nice set. I always try to get my horizon in the bottom third unless there’s a compelling foreground object that gives a sense of depth. You have a few that do this quite well.

Beautiful series. It’s #8 for me, with #1 a close second.

I really enjoyed doing reflections in Sedona. A couple spots I visited on different days, so different sky etc.

I have a hard time knowing what is the best composition, so if anyone wants to give your thoughts please feel free!

Beth, these are simply over the top! Water in the desert to me is uncommon and not only have you captured that but also with magnificent reflections. I have to agree with Cany143 and vote for #1 as best in set due to the symmetry of the composition plus the vivid colors. Shot #5 also intrigues me for the extremely subtle small pool reflections in the shadowy foreground. Well done all around.

Really like #5.
The 3 small reflections immediately captures the eye, then leads to the main subject. My fave.
