Great series, KT, I love that Packard convertible.

I am also pushing the 80 mark, and I have a dream car also; but it’s unattainable. I would love to have my first car though. 1959 Chevy Impala Conv. White with red interior. Loved the bench seat!
I had the same, but a coup, not convertible. Loved that car. It hummed!
Nice collection of the 53 cars, I hoped to see a 1953 Ford sun liner Convertible. I had one way back in 56, my favorite of all of the cars I’ve ever owned.

These series you are posting bring back so many great memories. Thank you.
The Studebaker Commander is a beauty.
Keep them coming-love antique cars and your photographs are wonderful.
If you run across any 53 Chryslers put one on the digest. My mother had a 53 Chrysler New Yorker two-tone green that was a beautiful car.
As though it were yesterday, I remember when the new-design Studebaker was pictured in the Trib auto section that year. Remarkably different and low down. A high school teacher bought one and he was our debate coach. I didn't like riding in it as you seemed to be sliding along on the pavement. Our family had a 1948 Chev Carryall---so much higher off the pavement---and I still have that and drive it now!---ew-----nice photos---I am sure your pictured cars look better and are certainly more valuable than when new?
Those Studebakers trip my switch. I’ve been a lifelong fan of Studebakers of that vintage - sleek and low.

I am surprised by the year 1953---I thought it was a year or two later? When the Studebaker with the large curved window was introduced a few years earlier, ---it was dubbed the car with both front ends. I wanted so to get a ride in it---and when I did, I was somewhat disappointed. I knew quite well it was the back seat of that car. I thought our debate club instructor bought a model right away---(The stripped down "Scotsman's model"--but that would have been the fall of 1956. But my main memory was seeing the introduction in the Trib introductory models---and excitedly showing the family. Probably as most boys of 8-10, I raided the literature racks of the car dealers. Ripon, only a small city was represented by Chevy, Ford, Chrysler brands, and Studebaker. I covered the walls of my room with the literature and filled a large box as well. Yet to this day have never owned a sedan.---ew
The Studebaker is beautiful. I haven't seen one since the '60s when a friend owned one.
