Is that the $15/month plan that has no commercials? Or, does that offer TV shows?

No, Youtube TV is a streaming service offering 70+ channels, including local l channels, PBS, sports, news, etc. $65/mo. Requires TV set to have streaming, which you can add if set doesn't already have it, with a Roku or Amazon Firestick.

In our aria Spectrum is the only cable provider. BUT, found that Comcast is putting lines. Hope competition helps.

I doubt I would save $65 if I dropped Spectrum TV, and then YouTube would raise its prices.

I went through an annual battle with DirecTV, where they'd raise prices. We'd haggle, I'd threaten to leave, we'd compromise. A year and a half ago, DTV raised price to $175/mo. That's when I switched. Yes, YTTV has since raised their price some, but I'm way ahead for switching.

It's a gold mine. They have a monopoly, and they can charge whatever they want.

Solution-Don't use them.

My suggestion: Buy a Roku stick - it'll cost about $30. Hook it up to the TV and go through all the password business. Sign up for a free trial of YouTubeTV. If you like it, cancel Spectrum. If not, you're only out $30, which you can probably mostly recoup by reselling the Roku stick here. Mind you, if you like it, you'll have to put a Roku on each TV, so there's some one-time expenses, but it's worth it!

They don't have a monopoly. Check out T-Mobile or Costco is starting up a new service

One other thing - if you get Roku, in addition to supporting YoutubeTV, Roku itself has numerous additional free channels.

My Netflix charge for this month is $15.11, up from $13.99. It's been going up $1.00/year, but Spectrum is much worse. From $165 a couple of years ago to almost $200/month now.

Netflix's reason - better quality offerings. Really?

Spectrum (aka SPUTUM) has raised my rates from $157/mo, 4 years ago to over $255/mo now. They say it would be higher if I had not been "Grandfathered" in with the change. I do believe I will take a HARD PASS on renewing with them later this year. Streaming services seem far superior.

I quit Netflix 4 years ago when they showed their true loyalties.

I had to hold the ears on the antenna above our TV so my father could watch the evening news!

We have the same issue with Spectrum. I have free Netflix with T-Mobile as our cell phone carrier.

If you are talking movies?----you might try USENET where people post nearly anything. And don't give me a speech about copyrights---regulars. Over the past twenty years I have downloaded a thousand movies and re-assemble the *.rar files into all the video formats common to commercial movies. One pays access to servers which retain posted rar files---uses a program to correct damaged files with a PAR file correction and then re-assemble into the finished film. You can keep the file---forever.
