Nice photos, Dave. Happy that you like the new guy. I’ve been a Mac guy for a long time.

You must have a very nice "computer" to make these great photographs! If CBS's "60 Minutes" is ever indeed of a heart-warming, good-guy story yours is perfect! Photographer finds perfect mate in new computer? Opens the door to great images. Might your "lake in the mountains" photo be from Glacier N.P.? Your enjoyment shows! Thanks for sharing your story.

Very nice Dave and best of luck with your new MacBook, but more importantly congratulations on your victory over the Big C. Well done!

Thank you. Mine is a long romantic story about a girl who I knew in grade school then learning that I had cancer,
drove across three states to care for me. We married and I recovered. I was the HS year book photographer, she was the artist. It was meant to be.

We are both old now but take care of each other.

It's amazing to me that this computer is so fast that it's easy to remember a photo, find it in LR, export it and just to add to this posting. All done in under a minute.

A few weeks ago I posted how I had ordered this computer, in part to celebrate winning a 15 year battle with cancer.

I then decided to move all my LrC images from my old computer into my new computer and reconstruct the LrC data base from scratch! Cooler heads here on LR advised me not to do that. I was convinced that my original LR data base had become corrupted of the years and wanted a fresh start. I have made a lot of progress over the past few weeks but it's a very error prone process! I'm sure that years from now I'll still be correcting, and refining search terms.

The good news is that having EVERYTHING in the SSM makes things happen so fast that the task is possible. I found a few pictures that I had forgotten about. I discovered that I have a ridiculous about of image duplication! That's something I can take care of in the future.

Now for some images:

Great set of photos -- worthy of a good Mac computer. I have had Mac's since the first tiny Mac Classic in the mid-80s. I started out with the first IBM PC, but made the switch and never looked back.

Wonderful to hear you have beaten back the "big C."

Great photos. I'm guessing that 2nd one was either Glacier NP or somewhere in the Canadian Rockies.

It was on a bus tour of the Canadian Rockies. Banff National Park. The water is really that color!

Your Peyto Lake shot is outstanding. Did you shoot from the one main overlook or venture further down? Actually you couldn't have if I had to guess. But super well done.

Actually, I no longer remember? I remember taking a long time composing the photo. I don't remember taking any risks to reach a special place.

The meta-data says ISO=200, f22, 35mm. I also see the term HDR and PP done in DxO OpticsPro.

I was using my old Sony A77II and my Minolta 35~70mm f/4 lens (A super sharp lens!) I paid $8 for that lens on eBay. I own two copies in case one breaks.

Thank you all for your regards. My LrC data base is in pretty good shape now. With 22408 images stored in my computer. It's all sorted with Keyword tags. There are a lot of duplicated images and a lot of total junk that should have been tossed. I'll strive to be more disciplined in the future.

There might be a tiny amount of errors made while I was reconstructing the Keyword Tags (typos.) It was a huge undertaking but it's behind me now.

I'm going to dig into my images and pull out one more old favorite, a study in texture.
