I am sometimes there for 5-6 days and am shooting every day. I have several batteries but sometimes run out and need to have the ability to charge on some sort of a remote system. I have a charger in my vehicle but it needs to be running to charge. Anyone with any ideas or experience would be appreciated. Check out Bioenno power.

I have this small unit

https://www.bioennopower.com/collections/mobile-power-station/products/copy-of-renewable-power-pack-bpp-160

This can easily charge several camera batteries and other things. It also be charged itself using available plug and play solar panels.

You should be able to purchase from Bioenno or HamRadio outlet.

There is a Canadian distributor.

You don't say whether it is your own vehicle or a rental. If your own vehicle then wire up a spare cigarette lighter outlet that has power on all the time and not just when your vehicle is turned on all the time. A charged car battery should allow you plenty of power to recharge a few camera batteries without compromising subsequent starting later. Depends on how many camera recharges you need to do. And whether you want to charge other things. Maybe take with you a car starter just to be sure. The idea of a spare battery with appropriate recharging while your car is running sounds good. Like 4WDers use.

Another thought is to just switch your vehicle to accessories. That may energize the usb ports, but you would have to ensure that nothing else is pulling power such as a radio, lights, etc. that could kill your battery over a period of time. The condition of your vehicle battery is also something to consider.

Same as what the others describe. I have several in case of emergency outages. Of course those bricks or pen batteries have to be precharged.

Not recommending this particular brand, but I'd want something that could start my car if needed and something that would work with all my stuff. I only listed this one because it popped up and is cheap.

I've got one of them. It's fairly heavy (powered by a lead acid battery), but with no lithium, you don't have to worry about it catching fire.

Why not purchase a charger and two extra batteries which should be available for about $20 US depending on the battery model for sale on the internet. I had to replace a charger and really did not need more batteries since I already have five batteries but most chargers I saw came with two batteries and were in the $20 US range.

Buy a solar charging device. Buy one based off your needs. They will even provide some charge on overcast days.

Back up solar power Banks from Goal Zero, Bluetti, and Yetti all have solutions that really work, as well as small solar arrays the recharge them in remote areas. (The sailboat community also uses them) None of the good ones are cheap. BTW someone mentioned an extra car battery----many pick-up trucks have an option for a second battery -for people who use winches, & snow plows. An extra car battery in a battery box can be easily configured to be charged by your car while driving then removed and be brought indoors and used with a small inverter. It doesn't have to be a full sized car battery, and good 12volt Sealed AGm battery is safe and maybe 20 pounds

PS , you may have provided for this in other ways, but if I were going to be in a location that remote, as a matter of personal safety I would want back up battery for my vehicle as well. Stuff happens........
I'm certainly not an expert, but there are also super reliable pure sine wave generators from Honda & Yamaha that also provide battery charging. As well as fuel in sealed quart containers that have shelf life measured in years.
Enjoy & be safe

Looks like a good unit for the price. Lots of other solar alternatives out there too.

Can't tell what your requirements for charging are but Noco Genius Boost model GB40 packs enough electric charge to jump-start a dead battery in my car. It also can power USB devices requiring 5v and/or 2.1 a. Best part about it? Can be re-charged using USB!

What's wrong with the car? It doesn't hurt to start it up every day or two to keep its battery charged also.

Go to Lion Energy.com. They have all types of solutions to your dilemma lowest cost are the following

Solar power station
https://lionenergy.com/products/lion-cub-go?variant=39469718110310

Companion solar panel to charge the power station
https://lionenergy.com/products/20-watt-solar-panel-for-lion-cub-go

They make really good products and are located in Utah. I have one of their LT1300 lithium iron phosphate batteries in my travel trailer for boondocking.
The above items are probably the smallest system you can put together and it does have a 120 volt outlet.

How about a response from a guy that needs no batteries to take a photograph? Take fewer images. I was at a week long Death Valley workshop last month with nine digital shooters. I shoot 8x10 large format that has spring activated shutters and use an analog light meter. As a comparison I came home with eight sheets of film and four glass plates to develop, they each shot hundreds of images.

I know to each his own. I enjoy the slow contemplative process that allows me to get into the moment and feel an image. Just suggesting that you try this when shooting digitally. It definitely would help solve your battery issues.

Is your name ANSEL ADAMS?---Congratulations. Although I shoot with a 4x5 Graphic View and a German 5x7---indeed an 8x10 is the ultimate. You should enter more of these "conversations" with the megapixel folks and describe your experiences.----Eric
