want to go to south Africa.
have been in touch with a tour group out of Cape Town. the name of the company is
Uyaphi. I would like to have any feedback if you have worked with them.
thanks
I am not familiar with them. I have been on a photo tour with Grant Atkinson to Botswana. He lives in South Africa. Check him out. I would love to travel with him again.
A quick glance at their web site tells me they are travel agents, not safari providers. When someone says they have "700 hotels" I call BS. They have access to 700 hotels, just as I do. They may be great, check yelp, trip advisor, etc. to see what is what. Nearly all companies use other travel service providers in-country. When booking ask which in-country service they are using. In our case, we had excellent services in SA and a few glitches in Namibia. WE used a small travel agency near our house which helped with a lot of the issues that popped up.
Check out
https://www.pangolinphoto.com/photo-safarisThey conduct photo safaris in a number of African countries, including SA. If they don't have something that meets your needs, they can probably connect you with someone who does.
Check out Kruger-2-Kalahari.com
Planned to use them and followed the newsletter for a while. Life got in the way and I didn't get to go, but thought their newsletter was good
Best of luck, Don

Not familiar with that group. I used Rhino Africa and was very pleased. They customized our visit to our specific desires both in base cities and on safari. I highly recommend them.

Do you really want to get closer to the Omicron birthplace? This is the last country I would want to visit at the moment.

Try
www.beardedheron.com - Bearded Heron Safaris in Kruger National Park. Neil Heron is an extraordinary safari guide and a great wildlife photographer. I thoroughly enjoyed my 10-day safari with Neil. He has some space coming up in the spring.
We had great results with a U.S. based agent Audley (audleytravel.com) travel. Multiple countries, multiple operators and many in-country transfers without a hitch.
I worked with them a few years back. I wanted to do 1 week in Kenya and 1 week in Tanzania. They put the package together and arranged transfer from one country to the other and back for flight out. I was very pleased with the results.

Having been the SA a number of times - I wouldn't go there at this time - the combination of the unrest, high crime rate and, to top it off, a Covid situation off the hook is just not my idea of a grand ole time. Even Cape Town has become quite questionable at this point in time. Real shame
I have taken your advise and contacted BH and am waiting to hear from Tina.
I may go on a 15day trip in March or 22. Waiting to hear about how to get there from Jtown etc.
This trip sounds great. Max of 6 people all photographer, and all in my age group.
thanks for the tip.
