....to have a Solstice.

And I thank you all --and you know who you all are!-- for having arranged as nice a day as you had for today's Stopping Of The Sun.

But next time.... could I make a suggestion or two?

Great photo. Were there any other pictograph panels close by?

Actually, yes, there are a number of other petro panels very close by, down to and including the glyphs that 'align' with a rock cast shadow that suggests the site is a 'Solstice marker site.'

The petroglyphs are amazing! The sense of great time passing is further emphasized by the top ridge, which looks like a dinosaur skeleton. What a remarkable shot!

Well, I'm waiting...I was the one that "stopped" the Sun so...what suggestions?

Very nice Photographs! I like the leading lions! (did I get that right?)

Ok, since you asked...

Next time, either cool it with the overcast --overcast skies DO NOT provide sharp shadows, and sharp shadows are required to clearly delineate the alignment of the elements that constitute the Solstice markers-- or provide me with some good, righteous, Industrial/Biblical clouds so's I can shoot the place and make it appear really epic looking. Okay? OKAY?!? ....criminy!

Apart from that, I have no idea what you're talking about with these 'leading lions' you apparently see, and say you 'like.' I know for a fact that every last one of the resident lions had been led away from the site three days prior.

Yes, Mike; we Moabytes do enjoy our pagan rituals. And many of the human sacrifices we carry out on our sacred Solstices (and Equinoxes, and days that end in 'y') can be great fun, too.
