The best AA battery holders I have are similar to the one below, but they hold a dozen batteries.

This one is described as "single use." It also says, "Originally designed for pilots..." Wow! Designed for pilots! These must be great.

The "single" use" makes me wonder who is writing these descriptions. I think I'll get a couple of them and hot glue them together. I don't know why they don't make a larger one for smaller batteries.

I have about six Storacell holders for AAA and AA. One color for NiMH, one color for alkaline. Love them!!!
I insert the batteries button up for fresh and upside-down for spent.

I take 2 detectors and a close up with me when I go detecting around the old ghost towns and cabins in the woods, hence I must carry 3 different batteries as I'm a long way from town if I run out! Would be nice to have them in holders of some sort like in my pistol belt.

B&H sells a case made by Watson ($1.99) that holds 4 AAs and can be clipped together with additional cases. They also have one that will hold 8. I bought several and am very happy with them.

Seems expensive, 5 bucks single use to store 4 batteries? I got battery boxes from Container store, holds 8, so long ago I forget how much I paid, maybe the same 5 bucks, and they are reusable!

I recently purchased a battery storage case for home use that includes a battery tester. I now no longer have random batteries in multiple locations throughout the house. Not sure how I got along without it!

I found these for camera batteries and they work perfectly for my Pentax batteries.

For my AAs I simply use rubber bands around them in groups of four, all buttons in the same direction when charged and two up and two down when needing charged, and carry them in a small zippered bag that I got but cannot remember where.
