If it ain’t broke , don’t fix it. You don’t always have to upgrade simply because it’s available.

I up grade my computer when needed. Every worked fine with windows 10 so when I installed windows 11 I was super happy all my adobe's products worked just as normal.

I upgraded to 11 and immediately my apps, and my email were slow to respond to commands, e.g scrolling was jerky and slow to respond. I didn't even try PS. I reverted to Windows 10 and all is back to normal. After upgrading to 11, I read that one has only 10 days to revert. If interested, the path to revert is: Start>Settings>Windows Update>Advanced Options>Recovery>Previous Versions of Windows. I am going to stay with 10 for a long time.

Enough to make me hold off, which I was already thinking about.

Thanks for posting this Bill.

Thank you. I did see that information. I'm hoping to hear from a few folks who have actually made the switch and their experience so far.

Jumping to Windows 11 is like jumping to a camera upgrade. Do your really need it? As long as Windows 10 is still supported or my PC doesn’t go gunny bag I’ll stick with it. But then I’m the kind of guy who drives the same care for 10 years or more. My 1999 Ford Ranger runs just fine for what I use it for.

It isn't. My newest camera is more than 8 years old. My 20 plus year old still working like new. Nothing stops them. Now my old computer running XP can no longer browse the internet. I don't need the upgrade. But it doesn't work any more even though it's in like new condition. Computers now depend so much on the internet so if the internet changes you must change your computer to match. Not so with cameras. So do I need Windows 11? No but I may if Chrome or other browser won't support Windows 10 any more. I may need Windows 11 if in the future my PS/LR subscription requires it.

I am running a desktop and two laptops, each with Windows 10. The desktop and one laptop were upgraded to 10 from 8. Knowing that Microsoft will support 10 until October '25, I'm staying with 10 until I require a new computer, then I'll get one with 11 installed. I do not use many added apps or programs so should not be very expensive to get updates for them.

I tried the search function but came up empty (as usual). I'm wondering how many of you that subscribe to Adobe (Lightroom, Photoshop, ACR) have completed this Windows upgrade and if you have had any problems running the Adobe programs afterwards. I'm a bit leery about this upgrade as my Dell desktop computer must be at least four years old and everything is currently working just fine. But I'm getting messages that indicate my computer is able to accept this upgrade. I look forward to your insight.

I rarely upgrade unless forced to. I especially wait for early adopters to discover faults and coding errors.

Yes Adobe cites too many issues when using Windows 11. I wont do it yet until these are all cleared up.

Generally, I believe, windows 11 provides additional features, rather than performance improvements compared to Windows 10. Because none of the new features seem to have value to me now, I will not install Windows 11. Of course, the time may come when that might change, but, for now, I will take that risk.

Can’t thank you enough for sharing this good info. I would certainly drive myself crazy trying to fix this wishing I never upgraded. You saved me from hair pulling regret for making that spontaneous decision to go for it.

I do have a new laptop with 11 on it. Serious pet peeve is that you cannot move your task bar to the sides of your screen. Must remain on the bottom. All of my computers are set up the same, with my task bar in the right. It’s what I like and what I’m used to. Hope they fix this soon. Won’t upgrade other computers until they correct this.

You are welcome.

I spent another two hours yesterday investigating to no avail. My only hope now is that enough people have this same error so that it gets heard about and hopefully sorted.

Here's what I get, it may be that many don't have it or some don't notice it.

I don’t upgrade anything unless there is a significant reason. I still miss Windows 7. I use Word 7. It meets my needs.

I am using a new Windows 10 PC. The manufacturer strongly suggested not even thinking about trying W11 until it has been out for at least 6 months.

In making a decision to move to Win 11 (if your computer can do so) or not, be aware that the main improvement in Win 11 over Win 10 is greatly enhanced security. And this is really not visible to most of us, so don't look for a faster OS. I have moved both my laptop and desktop machines to Win 11 when Windows Update told me I could do so. And I have had no problem at all.

Here are a few articles on the new security features. Be aware that your computer needs to have a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 component built into the motherboard for it to be eligible for a Windows 11 upgrade. Moving to Win 11 will require a BIOS firmware upgrade for most computers for it to access the TPM and its features. When the upgrade tells you it needs to do this, say OK and wait patiently.

Here are a few articles on Win 11 and the new security it offers:
