Bought a refurb e30 from olympus, got one pic from it, second pic the mirror locked up and the camera would not record, returned it to Olympus repair, took about 2 weeks to get it back, they charged me nothing but I had to pay the shipping to them, camera works just fine now, I think it was damaged in shipping but they did not question that just repaired, this is the 3rd refurb camera I have purchased and would buy another refurb without hesitation
I find that Amazon inflate their prices ridiculously, one would be better off purchasing from Adorama. I 've purchased two cameras this year and both are in supberb condition body wise and photos are magnificent. I am more than pleased with the price I paid for each. My eyes are set on the Canon Mark II by early next year.

I have purchased two refurb cameras. They are like new.
It is my opinion that most refurbs are new cameras.Dealers lIke B&H,Adorama and others get plans when they order in high quantity. The get get these so called refurbs which they can sell at a lower price.
I like referbs...in some cases, if they are truly 'factory refurbs" they may be a slight notch better than the off the shelf item because they have been individually checked and brought to spec. And a lot of these items are just returns as noted above and have been checked out and hold a full warranty...I've never had a problem...unless saving money is a problem...so far it seems to be a good idea...
My first digital camera was a HP 945 5 MP. It retailed for around $800.00 I picked it up refurbished for $395.00. this was about 20 yrs. ago. I still shoot with this camera today when out in the kayak. still takes great pics. I now have several canons. but your heart stays with your first.
