I have a Canon 100 photo printer and can never print straight from my computer without wasting several prints to adjust the exposure, contrast, etc. My monitor is calibrated with the Spyder device. So, my question is: what am I not doing that I should be doing? How does one calibrate the printer to be in synch with the monitor?
I find I have to adjust the monitor brightness to match the printer. Usually downward. It is trial and error to get it right.
