I guess you can thank the forefathers for that.

Yeah. Our forefathers had a great plan on setting the bar for justice. I'm glad you can't be seated as a jurist in this country. If you can be seated as one in your country, God save the poor soul who might be on trial for a similar charge.

What a joke. Good now I can go into Vermont with a firearm and kill people and call it self defend. PS: I live in New York State.

If you are chased by armed individuals, if one of them points a gun at your head, if one of them tries to bash your head in with a skateboard, then you have the right to use your legally obtained firearm to defend yourself.

If on the other hand you plan to go to Vermont - crossing a state line with a firearm which Rittenhouse did not do - with the intention of killing people - which the evidence indicated Rittenhouse did not do - then hopefully someone will defend themselves against you.

Bill's threat to go Vermont demonstrates that he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

It would never happen in Canada, no sane person would

ever take a long gun to a protest. You would be spotted

and arrested immediately.

Indeed we can. The concepts of
- innocent until proven guilty,
- the right to assembly,
- the right to carry a firearm as permitted by local law,
- the right to self defense,
- the right to remain silent,
- the right to a trial by a jury of peers, etc.
Are you jealous?

Oh, and coming soon - the right to sue for defamation.

The charges were baseless and politically oriented. The politicians were happy to ruin Kyle to appease the mob. The prosecutors were dishonest cheating slimeballs but I have little hope the authorities will do anything. Imagine what they get away with when there is no coverage of their behavior at all. I have heard that the defense was reluctant to put Kyle on the stand until their focus groups liked him a lot.

There was no evidence worth the name against Kyle. The judge could have thrown out he charges with prejudice.

You're referring to Biden?
Who called Rittenhouse a white supremacist as part of his campaign?
Yeah, Rittenhouse may have a defamation case against old Joe, who could plead mental debility in his defense.

In Canada do you have unchecked rioting, looting and arson in the streets, day after day, night after night, while local government officials tell law enforcement to stand by and stand down rather than intervening?

I can only speak for myself but I would think that most here that are happy with the verdict do not support Rittenhouse going to a riot with a gun, far from it, were he my child there would still be hell to pay at home, but given that he was there and what transpired that night I and others feel that the jury came to the correct verdict. I would never let him forget that his poor decision making did cost lives, but I also understand that the deceased played a big role in their own demise and given that he was being attacked I would not fault him for using his weapon but I sure as hell would make it clear that I would have a huge problem with his being there with a weapon in the first place.

I feel sorry for you. In your country the criminal has more rights than the victim. If you defend yourself you’ll be brought up on charges. Thats insane.

Blurry - " ...but I would think that most here that are happy with the verdict do not support Rittenhouse going to a riot with a gun, far from it, ..."

Just quietly, expect an uptick of armed civilians looking for 'rioter troubles'. You've won the Kyle trial but started a MAGAstan vigilante recruitment drive with ... Real Deal Kyle ... as poster boy.

"Shall we go interstate? Hell Yes!"
