I am currently scratching my head as to why on earth I decided on this topic. As soon as I did, all ideas went out the window.

But let's give the topic a try. Post toys: big or little, child or adult (family friendly ), games, books. Maybe you have some that you or your children enjoyed. I wonder how many of us will find we've enjoyed similar toys in our past.

Nice photos. I wish I had kept a lot of toys from my childhood. I did keep my dolls and these other ones.

The one on the left is Jumbo the elephant my Mum hand knitted me when I was 3 years old. The two dolls Rosemary and Michelle I think I got for my 5th birthday and of course Basil Brush the fox. Basil Brush was a fictional red fox, best known for his appearances on daytime British children's television around the 1960's and 70's .

I love seeing the toys you folks are sharing both big and small, or old and new. Unfortunately, I lost all of my childhood toys in a house fire. But, I have some to share that mean a great deal to me, that were acquired after the fire.

My dad left these old tractors to me. I think they may have been my brothers toys, but not sure.

Simplest toy of all.... a pile of leaves.

p.2 Oh my, Harry, she is really growing up. And all of likely remember playing in leaves, burying each other andas we grew older, had to rake them and now, many of us are still raking them or blowing or bagging them!

Pat, I think your challenge will be a big hit. I'm sure whatever you were thinking will come back to you! Thanks for hosting.
I too had a British Leland MGB. If I remember correctly, it was a 1970 model. I loved that car. But alas, it was temperamental and only started when you held your mouth just right. Then, along came my first child. As you know, there is no room for a car seat in the car. Unfortunately, my beloved MGB had to go. To this day, I miss that car.

They are fun and they are temperamental. If my husband weren't a mechanic, I wouldn't be able to keep it. Mine you don't dare drive after dark - people don't see you even in daylight and the electrical system is terribly temperamental. The heater works best in summer and not at all when it gets cold - LOL But I still love it.

p.1. Nice shot of the B. Reminds me of my '67 (first car). Yes, kids like those metal trucks.

Thanks B, those cars are fun. Originally thought a '55 would be nice, but wanted something that I could drive around in and the '55s are few and far between and mostly show cars.

Yes, you're absolutely right about the electrical system. And I had the same problem with the heater too. Back then, the repair parts were terribly expensive and had to come from across the pond. I hope your hubby has better luck than I did with replacement parts.

These are three from a series I did on Mobile Home Park Life.
The second shows the pure pride and joy of this little boy showing off his outdoor kitchen and the first, my interpretation of the feeling of an abandoned toy. The third shows the magnitude of our toys in relation to the rest of our possessions.

If anyone is interested, the gallery of photos is here. https://pbase.com/robertl594/all_jpegs

Robert these are wonderful images with clear stories. I tried looking at your series, but the link says I need a password to view.

Thank you. I wasn't sure about the color at first but over the years I've received a lot of compliments on the color, especially from females. It leads me to ask "Why didn't I buy a bike this color sooner?" and "Where the hell were you girls when I was single?"

That's funny! Sorry Matthias ... you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time maybe??
